Further info: Although the announcement mentions forest management, they primarily seek a person who knows optimization. The idea is to work on two EU-funded projects. They have mid-integer linear optimization problems, very large forest data sets, and optimization software in Python.
In October 2024, The Finnish Operations Research Society organized an event where doctoral studies in operations research were introduced. We shared information about postgraduate studies in the field of OR.

During the excursion, the employees of UPM will give presentations on how Operations Research and Machine Learning have been applied at UPM. Participants are also offered coffee and a bun.
